1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, let a site remember small pieces of information on your device. This policy explains which of these Zoomhut uses at https://zoomhut.com and why. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
2. Cookies we use
All of the cookies below are first-party cookies set by Zoomhut. Most are strictly necessary for the Platform to work securely; the visitor ID supports account features and our own usage analytics. Their values are encrypted.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
zoomhut-session |
Keeps you signed in as you move between pages and links your browser to its session on our server. The session can also hold short-lived data, such as your conversation with the public sales assistant. | Strictly necessary. Not readable by page scripts (HttpOnly). | Ends when you log out, or after 4 hours of inactivity. |
XSRF-TOKEN |
Protects you against cross-site request forgery by confirming that forms and requests really come from our site. | Strictly necessary. Readable by our own scripts, by design. | Same as the session cookie. |
zh_vid |
A random visitor ID. It lets us link the searches and assistant conversations you make before signing in to your account once you sign in or sign up, and helps us understand how the Platform is used. It is never shared with third parties. | First-party functional cookie. HttpOnly, encrypted. | 1 year. |
remember_web_… |
Set only if you tick “Remember me” when signing in, so you stay signed in on that browser. | Strictly necessary for the feature you asked for. HttpOnly. | Up to about 400 days, or until you log out. |
Our content delivery network (CDN) may also set strictly necessary security cookies, for example to filter malicious traffic or bots. [CDN provider and any cookie names to be confirmed.]
3. Browser storage
| Technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Local storage (chat widget) | The chat widget may remember whether the chat panel is open or closed, so it stays the way you left it. It does not contain your conversation or personal information. [Storage key name to be confirmed.] | Until you clear your browser's site data. |
4. What we do not use
- No third-party analytics services. Our only analytics come from our own first-party records (see the visitor ID above).
- No advertising or marketing cookies, and no retargeting.
- No tracking pixels or social media tracking tags.
- No third-party font or script services that receive your IP address when you load a page. Our fonts are hosted on our own server.
5. Why there is no cookie banner
We use only first-party cookies, never share them with third parties, and do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies, so we do not currently show a cookie consent banner. [Counsel to confirm whether the visitor ID cookie needs consent in any market we launch in.] If we add optional cookies, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
6. Managing cookies
You can view and delete cookies and site data in your browser's settings, and you can block cookies altogether. If you block or delete the cookies above, you will be signed out and forms may not work, because the Platform relies on them to keep your session secure. To stop being remembered on a device, log out or leave “Remember me” unticked.
7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so there is currently nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. If that changes, we will honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out request.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if the cookies or storage we use change, and post the new version here with a new effective date and version number. Questions? Email john@zoomhut.com.
